Terms of Use

These terms set the conditions for using Erie Residents Directory. Accessing or using the reference means you accept them; if you disagree, do not use the service.

1. What Erie Residents Directory Is

Erie Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections connected to Erie, Boulder County, Weld County, and Colorado. It describes sources and links to their custodians. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with the Town of Erie, either county, a state office, a court, or a records custodian.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use the reference only for lawful, personal, civic, or historical purposes. You may not use it or anything reached through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft or fraud
  • Make FCRA-regulated decisions (credit, employment, tenant, insurance)
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
  • Interfere with the site's operation or security

Colorado's stalking and harassment limits include C.R.S. §§ 18-3-602 and 18-9-111. The federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, 18 U.S.C. §§ 2721-2725, also restricts personal information from state motor-vehicle records. A parcel, voter, or court search is not a route to DMV data.

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency Status

This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither the material on these pages nor a result from a linked search tool is presented as a consumer report. None may be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose regulated by the FCRA.

4. External Portals and Tools

Town of Erie resources, Boulder County and Weld County portals, Colorado agencies, libraries, archives, and sponsored search tools operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Erie Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, charges, or data practices.

5. No Warranties

The service is supplied "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that a page, office contact, coverage note, or linked portal is accurate, complete, current, available, or capable of returning a correct result.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of this service or an outside resource linked from it. This includes a decision made from a record located through the reference.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that results from your misuse of the service or breach of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The site's original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short excerpt with attribution is welcome. Republishing full pages or copying the content systematically is not permitted.

9. Changes to the Terms

A revised version may be posted here at any time. Continued use after the change signifies acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Restricting Access

Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms or abuses the service, at the operators' discretion and without advance notice.

11. Colorado Governing Law

Colorado law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Public-record requests in the Erie area may involve the Colorado Open Records Act, C.R.S. §§ 24-72-201 to 206, or the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act, C.R.S. §§ 24-72-301 to 309. Those laws govern the custodian's response and do not turn every record into an unrestricted public file.

The Colorado Privacy Act applies to qualifying private-data practices subject to its thresholds and exemptions; it does not remove a deed, assessor record, voter record, or court filing from a government custodian. Vital-statistics records remain subject to C.R.S. § 25-2-117 and the applicable eligibility rules.

12. Severability

If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
